I am about to embark on my first solo vacation!

Let's not get too excited though, I'm not even leaving the country and I'll only be gone for 3 days. BUT I'm excited to get away for a couple days of sunshine and I'm bringing (too many) books with me to keep me company. None too soon either because it looks like New England is about to get dumped on with another snow storm. Wouldn't it be nice if Spring actually happened around here?

I'm really excited to get away and recharge for a little while. It's been showing in all areas of my life that I need to give myself a break. I've been working on being more proactive in seeking out solutions to what I think are my biggest obstacles, but I think a lot of the time the pressure to perform is all in my own head. I can be pretty hard on myself when I feel I'm not meeting expectations, which then of course means I have less energy to try to rise back up. I imagine I'm not the only one in this camp, so please take this as a formal invitation to give yourself a break too. Most things in life are not worth working yourself into the ground for. So what if the laundry doesn't get folded tonight? Who cares if your lunches for the week aren't meticulously meal-prepped and instagram-worthy? Is anyone really going to be let down if you decide to have some quiet time tonight instead of trying to cram a little more "doing-stuff" into your weekend? I think not. That said, if those things are what you need to properly care for yourself, please do invest your energy there - just make sure you're doing it for you and not for someone else.

In the spirit of giving myself a break, I also hope to come back inspired with all-new ideas to write about for you folks. With that in mind, I may be away from the blog for a couple of weeks working on new things! There are some changes happening to the site which hosts it so I may be looking to move it someplace else or TNML may return with a whole new look. It's all up in the air for the moment, but I want to make sure I'm giving you all the best experience here that I can create.

Speaking of which, I'd love love love if you could let me know what you want. Please tell me what you're loving or what you wouldn't miss if it didn't come back or what might help make TNML even more fun. If you don't want to leave a comment here, find me on FB or Instagram and let me know what I can do to make your experience better. Is there a topic you're dying to know about? Is there a feature on the page that drives you nuts? Is there something you wish I'd do more often?

I hope all my fellow New Englanders survive the impending snow, and I hope you all keep kicking ass at all the awesome things you do!
